Green Island Country Club’s golf course opened in 1961, featuring a George Cobb and Joe Lee design with rolling hills sitting just off the Chattahoochee River. Just minutes from downtown Columbus, Green Island lies 500 feet above sea level, combining beauty and challenging elevation changes on many holes. Integrating beauty with a challenge, the Green Island Golf Course is lined with mature pine trees from the tee to the green, Champion ultra dwarf-Bermuda greens, and 419 Bermudagrass tees, fairways, and rough. Featuring an up and down layout, the course is a par 71 that is 6,512 yards from the longest tees, with a slope rating of 136 and a 72.1 USGA rating. Six sets of tees offer play for various skill levels making the course a unique challenge to both novice and seasoned veterans.
